Kristine is a mom to six kids, three who were adopted as older siblings from foster care. Her oldest kiddo has special needs and lives in a supported living home nearby, and two of her adopted children has fetal alcohol syndrome and attachment disorders. These experiences have contributed to her having a strong passion for families who are dealing with trauma or with special needs. After college Kristine worked full time in the public schools for a decade, plus part time in early intervention with a small stint in elder care before deciding that being a stay-at-home mom was best for her family situation. Fast forward twenty years later, and she re-entered the job scene and found PSA which she says is the best job she’s ever had hand’s down. At her age having the support and the autonomy that PSA provides is priceless, and she loves working as a team with the other amazing therapists and staff in addition to providing support, education, and resources to the parents. Working for PSA could not be a better fit!
Outside of work, Kristine has a passion for volunteering and has volunteered for over 20 years at ICAN (Indiana Canine Assistance Network, which is the only accredited service dog organization in Indiana), and she is the Head Chairperson for the Human Rights Committee at Sycamore Services ensuring that no rights are being violated in all of the behavior plans that go through the organization. Her past volunteer jobs included being a foster parent for 12 years and volunteering at Deaf Camp for 10 years. In her free time you might find her hacking at balls on the golf course, reading a book, riding a horse, spending time with her dogs, or having fun with her family and partner, Randy.
