Erin Jackson, SLP-CCC

Erin completed her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western Carolina University in 2013.  Erin has worked in the public schools as well as skilled nursing settings, but early intervention is by far her favorite! She has been with PSA since August 2015 and continues to be so thankful for the opportunity to do what she loves. Erin has experience working with children with a wide range of communication difficulties, but has recently been interested in learning more about and implementing a neurodiversity affirming framework. Erin uses a child-led approach, focusing on incorporating the child’s interests and supporting regulation while encouraging all forms of communication! Erin strives to help parents focus on their child’s strengths, prioritizing “connection over compliance,” and using these strengths to help build upon relationships and skills! Erin understands that the world of therapy can be scary and overwhelming to families; meeting the family and child where they are is of the utmost importance. When not working, Erin stays busy at home with her husband and 4 young children! She enjoys traveling, running, and cheering on the Fighting Illini!
