Amber Knies is a dedicated pediatric occupational therapist with a passion for helping children thrive through play. With nearly a decade of experience at Ascension St. Vincent and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, she brings a warm, hands-on approach to supporting kids and their families through every stage of development.
Amber earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Indiana University Bloomington and went on to complete her master’s in Occupational Therapy at Indiana State University. Over the years, she has pursued specialized training in SOS feeding, primitive reflex integration, and hippotherapy—adding depth and versatility to her therapy toolkit.
She currently serves families through the First Steps early intervention program, working closely with young children to build foundational skills that foster independence, confidence, and joy. Whether it’s through sensory play, movement-based therapy, or equine-assisted sessions, Amber believes in meeting each child where they are and helping them reach their fullest potential.
Outside of work, Amber is always on the move—literally. She loves running, swimming, hiking, and reading whenever she can find a quiet moment. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her two young boys, who keep her playful spirit alive and inspire her every day.
